"My name is John Doe and I am a Georgia landowner and professional beekeeper of over 35 years. I am the owner of Un-Bee-lieveable Bees, LLC, a company that provides pollination services to various farms and ranchers in Northern Georgia. I am using Land2Farm to find customers for my pollination services and to connect with fellow pollinators in Georgia."

Step 2: Posting a Listing

After creating and updating your profile, the next thing to do on Land2Farm is to post your land (landowners) or livestock (beekeeping and ranching) services! Your listing will depend on what type of stakeholder you are and what you are looking for on our platform.

If you are a landowner with available land, you will be listing your property for beekeepers and ranchers to see. In your listing, you will be able to specify property specifics (location, acreage, forage) and what type of service or livestock you are looking for on Land2Farm.

If you are a beekeeper or rancher looking for available land, you will be able to list your services or requests for landowners to see. In your listing, you will be able to specify what type of land you are looking for and what services you can provide for that type of land.

As we will discuss throughout Step 2, providing as much information as possible in listings is key to finding others to connect with on Land2Farm! Below, we will walk you through the posting process and elaborate on some key areas to focus on.

Posting a Listing: Selecting a category and subcategory
The first step in the listing process is choosing the category and subcategory for your listing to be posted under. Properly following categories and subcategories makes it easier for the correct people to find and interact with your listing.

On your listing, category and subcategory are very straightforward. Category specifies who you are, i.e. a landowner, a beekeeper, or a rancher. While subcategory specifies what you are looking for, i.e. leasing land, seeking land, or providing a service.

Currently, there are three categories available: Beekeepers, Ranchers, and Land Owners. Choose your category based on who you are.

This image shows the different categories available for users to choose when creating a listing.

Based on your category, you can choose the relevant service you are looking to provide or looking to receive. If there is a service you are looking to provide not listed under our subcategories, please choose the "miscellaneous" subcategory and describe the service in greater detail in your listing.

Posting a Listing: Filling out your listing
Once you have selected your listing's category and subcategory, you will be prompted to fill out the main part of the listing. This main section encompasses all the key information surrounding the service you are providing or requesting. Properly filling out this section can substantially increase the likelihood of a user seeing your post and reaching out! We recommend you take 5-10 minutes to fill out your listing section.

Landowners
In the main section of a landowner listing, there are some key pieces of information you will be required to provide in your listing. These items include:
  • County and State
  • Land Description
  • Land Size
  • Suitable Agriculture Uses
  • Desired Length of Rental and Available Starting
  • Property Characteristics

We highly recommend including each of these pieces of information, along with images and a description of the property. Providing beekeepers and ranchers with 2-3 pictures of your property and an additional description of the land gives them an idea of what your property looks like and how it can be used.

Beekeepers/Ranchers
In the main section of a landowner listing, there are some separate, yet key pieces of information you will be required to provide in your listing. These items include:
  • # of acres requested
  • County and State
  • Detailed description

We highly recommend including each of these pieces of information, along with any images or additional information that provides greater clarity to what you are seeking or what service you provide. Providing landowners with images and a description of what you are seeking out/looking to provide gives them an idea of how they can be helpful to you.

Once you have successfully filled out all of the fields on your listing, make sure to review all information and check for spelling, accuracy, and any other mistakes. After reviewing, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the "Post listing" button.

Success! By clicking this button, we will receive and approve your listing for viewing on the Land2Farm platform. Get ready for the messages to start rolling in.

Posting a Listing: Promoting your listing
On top of Land2Farm's efforts to market and promote all listings on the platform, we highly recommend sharing your listing with your networks after posting. Because of the virality of social media, sharing your post on popular sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, and Craigslist can help increase the number of users viewing your listing and the likelihood of finding someone.

In fact, built into each listing is the option to "Share" on Facebook as a post. Sharing your listing to your personal page, along with any relevant groups or company pages is a great way to spread the word about your listing. While we are on the topic, feel free to join our Beekeeping and Ranching Facebook Groups to stay up-to-date with information, resources, and improvements to the platform.

If you want to share your listing on other social media platforms, we recommend simply copying and pasting the URL from your listing onto the relevant platform. When you paste the link, there will a photo and description of your listing will be automatically formatted and shown on the platform.

With this, you are all set!
